BMW Automotive (Ireland) Limited is carrying out a voluntary recall of certain BMW Ix3 vehicles.

The head airbags in the vehicles concerned may not have been bolted in accordance with the specifications. Where a head airbag that has not been properly installed is activated in the event of an accident, it is possible that the airbag could deploy incorrectly or that the inflator could move out of position and strike the occupants. There is a risk of injury.

 

There are 58 vehicles affected in the Republic of Ireland that were produced between 18 December 2025 to 08 May 2026.

BMW Automotive (Ireland) Limited is carrying out a voluntary recall of certain 5 series, 7 series, i5, i7, and M5 vehicles.

A safety issue has been identified whereby the cockpit cable harness may be damaged when the microfilter is replaced. This can lead to a short circuit, with smoke build-up resulting in fire.

 

There are 1,067 vehicles affected in the Republic of Ireland that were produced between 09 June 2022 to 05 December 2025.

BMW Automotive (Ireland) Limited is carrying out a voluntary recall of certain 3 series, M3 model vehicles.

The driver airbag inflator may malfunction due to long-term degradation. In this case, if the airbag is deployed in an accident, the internal pressure in the inflator may be too high. In the worst-case scenario, the inflator could burst. Metal fragments could cause potentially fatal injuries.

There are 1,485 vehicles affected in the Republic of Ireland that were produced between 03 November 1998 to 24 August 2006

BMW Automotive (Ireland) Limited is carrying out a voluntary recall of certain 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6 series X3, X4, X5 model vehicles.

The failure concerns the RSW22 starter, type RWT (reinforced for water tightness). In the case of the RWT starters, it was found that increased abrasion of the magnetic contact can lead to the formation of deposits at the lowest point of the relay interior. This in turn can increase the resistance of the relay contact, causing accidental start-up or even a short circuit, possibly leading to a thermal reaction.

There are 197 vehicles affected in the Republic of Ireland that were produced between 28 May 2020 and 04 October 2024.
