Mini recalls certain Cooper, Countryman, and Aceman vehicles due to safety issues

BMW Automotive (Mini Ireland) Limited has announced a recall for specific Mini Cooper, Countryman, and Aceman passenger vehicles. The recall is due to several safety concerns that could affect passenger protection and vehicle braking performance. The affected vehicles include those produced between August 5, 2025, and September 23, 2025, as well as those manufactured between June 18, 2025, and August 25, 2025, with a total of 30 vehicles impacted in the Republic of Ireland.

One of the main issues involves the end seatbelts in the second row of certain Mini models, which may not have been manufactured correctly. This defect could lead to a failure of the car's sensitivity sensors, resulting in insufficient protection for passengers during a collision. Additionally, there are concerns regarding the front seat belts in some vehicles, which may not provide adequate restraint in the event of an accident, increasing the risk of injury.

Another significant safety issue has been identified with the servomotor in certain Mini models, where the hollow shaft may not have been welded properly. This defect could compromise braking performance, requiring greater force to stop the vehicle and potentially increasing stopping distances. The ABS and DSC brake control systems may also be affected, further raising the risk of accidents.
