The brand is Eddy Toys. There are approximately 576 affected products in the Republic of Ireland. The product was sold by the following retailers:

What to do:

In line with the position in the UK, the CCPC is advising consumers who have the product in their home to do the following:

  • Stop using the product immediately.
  • Place the product in a heavy-duty plastic bag, seal it securely, label it clearly and store it in a secure location out of reach of children. Contact your local authority for advice on collection and disposal.
  • If the product is punctured and the sand inside is accessible, clean sites where the product was used using wet cloths to avoid generating dust. Wear gloves and a protective FFP2 face mask or equivalent. Do not use a vacuum cleaner for clean-up. Double bag the sand, gloves, mask and cloths. Seal it securely, label it clearly and store it in a secure location out of reach of children. Contact your local authority for advice on collection and disposal.
  • Prior to disposal contact the place of purchase to request a refund.
