Citroën vehicles recalled due to engine failure and fire risk

Gowan Distributors Limited (Citroën Ireland) has announced a recall affecting several Citroën models, including the Berlingo, Jumpy, C3 Aircross, C3, C4, and C4X. The recall is due to multiple safety concerns, such as the risk of engine failure caused by slippage of the water pump pulley in certain models, which could lead to engine shutdown and potential loss of vehicle parts on the road.

Additionally, some C3 Aircross and C3 models may have been assembled with insufficient clearance between the petrol particulate filter and the starter alternator, posing a risk of water infiltration and electric arcing that could result in overheating or fire. Other models, including the Jumpy, have been identified with fuel return pipes that do not meet specifications, potentially leading to fuel leaks and fire hazards.

In total, 1,187 vehicles are affected in the Republic of Ireland, produced between various dates from October 2023 to March 2026. Owners of these vehicles are encouraged to contact Citroën’s Contact Centre or their local dealer to arrange necessary repairs or replacements. It is important for affected customers to take action promptly to ensure their safety.
