Gowan Distributors Limited (Citroën Ireland) has announced a recall affecting multiple Citroën models due to identified safety issues. The recall includes Citroën C3, C4, C5 Aircross, Spacetourer, and Jumpy vehicles, among others. Specific concerns range from inadequate brake pedal support that could lead to braking failure, to faulty airbag inflators that may burst with excessive force, posing serious injury risks. Additionally, some high-voltage batteries may overheat, potentially resulting in fire hazards.

The affected vehicles were produced between 2008 and 2025, with a total of 192 vehicles for the C3 Aircross and C3 models, 48 for the Spacetourer and Jumpy, 548 for the C5 Aircross, and 22 for the Aircross models. Citroën has requested that owners of the affected vehicles stop driving them immediately, especially for those with airbag issues, until repairs are made by authorized dealerships.
