Gowan Distributors Limited (Citroën Ireland) has announced a recall affecting multiple models of Citroën vehicles due to identified safety issues. One concern involves the brake pedal support in certain Citroën C3 Aircross and C3 models, where a missing or poorly assembled pin may cause the brake pedal to disengage, posing a risk of losing braking ability. This affects vehicles produced between June and November 2025.
Another recall involves the Citroën Spacetourer and Jumpy models, where a diagnostic test may indicate emissions non-compliance due to urea consumption inefficiency. This affects vehicles manufactured from July 2022 to January 2024. Additionally, the Citroën C5 Aircross has a recall due to a malfunction in the Stop&Start function, which could lead to increased CO2 emissions, affecting 548 vehicles produced between September 2023 and April 2025.
The Citroën Aircross models are also being recalled due to a potential fault in the high-voltage battery that could lead to overheating and fire risks, affecting 22 vehicles produced between January and February 2021. Furthermore, certain Spacetourer and Jumpy vehicles are recalled due to a risk of front suspension bolt breakage from corrosion, which could affect vehicle handling.
Lastly, there are stop-drive recalls for Citroën C4, C3, and C-Zero models due to airbag inflator issues that could lead to serious injuries in an accident. Owners of these vehicles are advised to stop driving immediately until repairs are made. Affected customers will be contacted directly to arrange necessary repairs.
