Gowan Distributors Limited is conducting a recall of several DS model vehicles due to identified safety hazards. One major issue involves the DS3 Crossback and DS7 Crossback models, where the malfunction indicator light may not activate if there is a fault in the Selective Catalytic Reduction system or diesel particulate filter. This could lead to emissions that do not meet regulatory standards. A total of 872 vehicles produced between March 27, 2017, and November 15, 2022, are affected in the Republic of Ireland.
Another concern involves certain DS7 Crossback vehicles that may have faulty high-voltage batteries, which could overheat and potentially cause a fire. This recall affects four vehicles produced between March 7, 2019, and September 27, 2021. Additionally, there are safety issues with the driver airbag inflators in DS4 and DS5 models, where the inflators could fragment during deployment, posing a risk of injury. This recall impacts 168 vehicles produced between 2010 and 2018.
Consumers who own affected vehicles are advised to stop driving their cars immediately until they can have the necessary repairs completed at an authorized dealership. Gowan Distributors Limited will be reaching out directly to those impacted by the recalls to provide further instructions and assistance.
