Gowan Distributors Limited (Fiat Ireland) has announced a voluntary recall for specific Fiat models due to various safety concerns. The recall affects the Fiat Grande Panda and 600 models, which may have been assembled with insufficient clearance between the petrol particulate filter and the starter alternator. This could lead to water infiltration and electric arcing, posing a fire risk in the engine compartment. A total of 166 vehicles produced between 25 February 2025 and 23 January 2026 are impacted in the Republic of Ireland.
Additionally, the Fiat Ducato models are being recalled due to a potential issue with the fuel return pipes, which do not meet required specifications. This could result in fuel leaks, affecting 46 vehicles manufactured between 19 March 2025 and 04 July 2025. Furthermore, certain Fiat Doblo and Scudo models equipped with a DV5R engine may experience fuel leaks due to a non-conformity in the common rail, which could lead to a fire under the bonnet. This recall affects 52 vehicles produced between 25 July 2025 and 10 October 2025.
Customers who believe their vehicle may be affected are encouraged to contact their Fiat dealer or reach out to Fiat directly at 01 800342 800 for further assistance. Gowan Distributors Limited will also be contacting all affected customers to provide additional steps regarding the recall.
