Gowan Distributors Limited (Opel Ireland) has announced a recall affecting multiple Opel vehicle models due to safety concerns. One of the key issues involves the Opel Grandland X, where a mechanical failure in the gearbox bearing could cause the power steering to lock, making the vehicle difficult to steer. This affects two vehicles produced between May 15, 2023, and September 8, 2023, in the Republic of Ireland.

Another recall involves Opel Corsa, Astra, Combo, and Vivaro models equipped with the DV5R engine, which may experience engine failure due to slippage of the water pump pulley. This could lead to misalignment of the timing belt and potential engine shutdown, affecting 456 vehicles produced from November 6, 2025, to February 28, 2026.

Additionally, Opel Corsa, Frontera, and Mokka vehicles are recalled due to insufficient clearance between the petrol particulate filter and the starter alternator, which could lead to water infiltration and a risk of fire. This affects 889 vehicles produced between June 1, 2023, and January 13, 2026.

Lastly, Opel Movano vehicles are being recalled due to non-compliant fuel return pipes that could lead to fuel leaks, posing a fire risk. This affects 60 vehicles produced from November 6, 2024, to July 23, 2025. Consumers are advised to contact their local Opel dealer for repairs and further instructions.
