Gowan Distributors Limited (Peugeot Ireland) has announced a voluntary recall affecting multiple Peugeot models due to safety concerns. The recall includes Peugeot 308 V3, 408, 3008 V3, and 5008 V3 vehicles, which may experience unexpected deactivation of interior door handles while the engine is running. This malfunction can prevent occupants from exiting the vehicle, posing risks of injury or suffocation in emergencies. A total of 2,274 vehicles produced between November 1, 2023, and February 12, 2026, are affected in the Republic of Ireland.

Additionally, Peugeot 208 V2, 308 V3, Rifter, Partner, and Expert models equipped with the DV5R engine are also under recall due to potential engine failure caused by slippage of the water pump pulley. This issue could lead to misalignment of the timing belt and engine shutdown, with 358 vehicles produced between October 19, 2025, and February 5, 2026, impacted.

Another recall involves Peugeot 208 and 2008 models, where insufficient clearance between the petrol particulate filter and the starter alternator may lead to water infiltration and electric arcs, creating a fire risk. This affects 1,347 vehicles made between June 7, 2023, and January 21, 2026.

Lastly, some Peugeot Boxer NG vehicles may have non-compliant fuel return pipes, which could lead to fuel leaks and potential fire hazards. This recall affects 16 vehicles produced between February 4, 2025, and July 21, 2025. Consumers are advised to contact Peugeot customer care for further assistance regarding these recalls.
