Gowan Distributors Limited (Peugeot Ireland) is carrying out a voluntary recall of certain Peugeot 3008 and 5008 model vehicles.

A safety issue has been identified whereby on certain Peugeot 3008 and 5008 vehicles, the fixing screws may be broken on the front left or right ball joint mount on the front lower suspension arm. One missing screw has no effect but two missing screws will cause the ball joint mount to pivot and the affected wheel to change direction and hit the mudguard, which may affect the steering capacity of the vehicle in the worst-case scenario.

Gowan Distributors Limited (Peugeot Ireland) is carrying out a voluntary recall of certain Peugeot Traveller and Expert model vehicles.

The risk description reported to us is that vehicles that on some Peugeot Traveller and Expert vehicles fitted with the DW10F EUR 6.4 engine, a diagnostic test to detect urea consumption inefficiency (i.e. under-consumption, blocked urea injector) may result in an In-Use-Performance-Ratio (IUPR) below the statutory threshold (0.336). This may lead to a failure to comply with regulatory requirements concerning emissions.

There are 65 vehicles affected in the Republic of Ireland that were produced between 17 May 2022 and 29 January 2024.

Gowan Distributors Limited (Peugeot Ireland) is carrying out a voluntary recall of certain Peugeot 2008, 2008 V2, 208, 208 V2, 3008 V2, 301, 308 V2, 308 V3, 5008 V2, 508 V2, Rifter, and Partner model vehicles.

The risk description reported to us is that vehicles fitted with the DV5R engine, may experience reduced resistance of the 7 mm camshaft chain due to oil carbonisation and high contact pressure. This may cause the camshaft chain to break, leading to engine failure in the worst-case scenario.

There are 14,612 vehicles affected in the Republic of Ireland that were produced between 2017 and 2023.

Gowan Distributors Limited (Peugeot Ireland) is carrying out a voluntary recall of certain Peugeot 508 and 5008 model vehicles.

The risk description reported to us is that in certain Peugeot 508 V2 and 5008 V2 vehicles, the Stop/ Start function does not work due to incorrect coding in the Built-in Systems Interface. CO2 levels may increase and do not correspond to the CO2 values approved and listed in the CoC (certificate of conformity). This could lead to a failure to comply with regulatory requirements concerning emissions.

Gowan Distributors Limited (Peugeot Ireland) is carrying out a voluntary recall of certain Peugeot 3008, 508 model vehicles.

A safety issue has been identified whereby it is possible that some Peugeot 3008 V2 and 508 V2 units may be affected by a faulty high-voltage battery, which could potentially cause overheating and, in the worst-case scenario, cause the battery or vehicle to catch fire. Analysis of the batteries returned during the recent recall (replacement of high-voltage battery) detected an unidentified failure mode.

There are 66 vehicles affected in the Republic of Ireland that were produced between 02.07.2019 and 12.10.2022.

Gowan Distributors Limited (Peugeot Ireland) is carrying out a voluntary recall of certain Peugeot 208, 301, 308, 508, 2008, 3008, 5008, Rifter, Partner, Traveller, Expert, Boxer model vehicles.

A safety issue has been identified whereby it is possible that the malfunction indicator light (MIL), i.e. warning light, does not switch on if the diagnostic system of the Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) system and/or of the diesel particulate filter (DPF) breaks down after a fault code appears. This could lead to a failure to comply with regulatory requirements concerning emissions.

There are 1,879 vehicles affected in the Republic of Ireland that were produced between 07 November 2016 and 03 November 2022.

Gowan Distributors Limited (Peugeot Ireland) is carrying out a voluntary recall of certain Peugeot Expert, Expert Traveller, e-Expert Hydrogen model vehicles.

A safety issue has been identified whereby the fixing bolt may break as a result of corrosion on the bushing of the front suspension. Breakage may cause the handling characteristics of the vehicle to become unpredictable. There is a risk of accident.

There are 658 vehicles affected in the Republic of Ireland that were produced between 23 September 2020 to 30 June 2022.

Gowan Distributors Limited (Peugeot Ireland) is carrying out a voluntary recall of certain Peugeot 208 V2, 308 V3, 408, 2008 V2, 3008 V2, 3008 V3, 5008 V2, 5008 V3 model vehicles.

A safety issue has been identified whereby the vehicles may have a fuel leak in the high-pressure hose, between the high-pressure pump and the rail, because of loose nuts. This may lead to increased fuel consumption and, in the worst-case scenario, to a fire in the vehicle.

Gowan Distributors Limited (Peugeot Ireland) is carrying out a voluntary recall of certain Peugeot 208 and 2008 model vehicles.

A safety issue has been identified whereby the fuel tank may not be leakproof and could allow fuel to leak out. In the event of leakage, leaking fuel may be ignited on hot components or from sparks and catch fire.

There are 26 vehicles affected in the Republic of Ireland that were produced between 26 June 2023 and 08 April 2025.

Gowan Distributors Limited (Peugeot Ireland) is carrying out a voluntary recall of certain Peugeot 308 model vehicles.

A safety issue has been identified whereby the upper anchorages of the seatbelts in the second row of seats may break. In the worst-case scenario, this may reduce the retractor’s ability to restrain the occupants during a possible impact. There is a risk of injury.

Gowan Distributors Limited (Peugeot Ireland) is carrying out a voluntary recall of certain Peugeot 208 II, 2008 II model vehicles.

A safety issue has been identified whereby in some instances, the aluminium valve block is not fully cast around the valve seat(s). This might lead to a slight internal leak of brake fluid (from one or more of the 12 valve seats) resulting in a reduction of the fluid level and the deactivation of stability control due to damage to the pressure sensor. In the worst-case scenario, the brake fluid could come into contact with the printed circuit board and result in the deactivation of all control functions (including the anti-lock system and electronic brake force distribution).

Gowan Distributors Limited (Peugeot Ireland) is carrying out a voluntary recall of certain Peugeot 208 II, 2008 II, Rifter, Partner, Traveller and Expert model vehicles.

A safety issue has been identified whereby some Peugeot vehicles equipped with high-voltage batteries may have an error in the software powering the battery monitoring system. This software, used as a safety device to avoid the engine cutting out and that transmits the data to customer service, does not solve the problem (erroneous cell voltage and the incorrect temperature is communicated to the battery monitoring system). In most cases, the ‘Ready’ mode may not be available after the vehicle has been started. In the worst-case scenario, there is a potential risk of a loss of acceleration power or the engine cutting out suddenly while driving.

Gowan Distributors Limited (Peugeot Ireland) is carrying out a voluntary recall of certain Peugeot 3008, 5008 model vehicles.

A safety issue has been identified whereby the headrests might not stay in the position they have been set in, due to defective lock slots on the headrest supports. In an accident, they could come loose, which could compromise their protective function.

There are 162 vehicles affected in the Republic of Ireland that were produced between 23 September 2024 and  05 November 2024.

Gowan Distributors Limited (Peugeot Ireland) is carrying out a voluntary recall of certain Peugeot 208 ll model vehicles.

A safety issue has been identified whereby some Peugeot 208 II vehicles may be affected by damage to the oil jet cooling nozzles. Failure to cool the crankshaft and/or pistons may damage them and cause the engine to stall. In the worst-case scenario, a hole could form in the engine casing; if oil leaks onto the exhaust pipe, it is possible that a fire could start in the engine compartment, which could lead to the vehicle catching fire.

Gowan Distributors Limited (Peugeot Ireland) is carrying out a voluntary recall of certain Peugeot 2008 and 508 model vehicles.

A safety issue has been identified whereby The ECU (Engine Control Unit) software on a limited number of vehicles does not comply with the specifications. In some cases, this could lead to an incorrect threshold for detecting under-consumption of urea and/or the performance of the OBD (on-board diagnostics) for NOx emissions monitoring may miss the target, leading to a failure to comply with regulatory requirements concerning emissions.

There are 46 vehicles affected in the Republic of Ireland that were produced between 07 February 2022 to 02 October 2023 (2008) and 20 June 2022 to 15 November 2023 (508).
