Gowan Distributors Limited (Peugeot Ireland) has announced a voluntary recall affecting multiple Peugeot vehicle models. The recall includes Peugeot 308 V3, 408, 3008 V3, and 5008 V3, which may experience unexpected deactivation of interior door handles while the engine is running. This malfunction could prevent occupants from exiting the vehicle, posing risks of injury or suffocation in emergencies. A total of 2,274 vehicles produced between November 1, 2023, and February 12, 2026, are involved in this recall.
Additionally, certain Peugeot 208 V2, 308 V3, Rifter, Partner, and Expert vehicles equipped with the DV5R engine are at risk of engine failure due to slippage of the water pump pulley. This issue could result in a loss of power and potential detachment of parts on the road, affecting 358 vehicles manufactured between October 19, 2025, and February 5, 2026.
Another recall concerns Peugeot 208 and 2008 models that may have insufficient clearance between the petrol particulate filter and the starter alternator, leading to possible water infiltration and electrical arcing. This could create a fire risk in the engine compartment for 1,347 vehicles produced from June 7, 2023, to January 21, 2026.
Lastly, Peugeot Boxer NG vehicles may have non-compliant fuel return pipes that could lead to fuel leaks and potential fire hazards. This affects 16 vehicles made between February 4, 2025, and July 21, 2025. Consumers who believe their vehicle may be affected should contact Peugeot customer care for further assistance.
