Gowan Distributors Limited (Peugeot Ireland) has announced a voluntary recall affecting multiple Peugeot models due to safety concerns. The recall includes Peugeot 308 V3, 408, 3008 V3, and 5008 V3 vehicles, which may experience unexpected deactivation of interior door handles while the engine is running. This issue could prevent occupants from exiting the vehicle, posing a risk of injury in emergencies. A total of 2,274 vehicles produced between 01 November 2023 and 12 February 2026 are affected in the Republic of Ireland.
Additionally, certain Peugeot 208 V2, 308 V3, Rifter, Partner, and Expert vehicles with DV5R engines are at risk of engine failure due to slippage of the water pump pulley. This could lead to a loss of power and potential detachment of parts while driving, affecting 358 vehicles produced between 19 October 2025 and 05 February 2026.
Another recall involves Peugeot 208 and 2008 models, which may have insufficient clearance between the petrol particulate filter and the starter alternator. This could lead to water infiltration and electrical arcing, increasing the risk of fire. Affected vehicles were produced between 07 June 2023 and 21 January 2026, totaling 1,347 units.
Lastly, Peugeot Boxer NG vehicles may have non-compliant fuel return pipes that could lead to fuel leaks and potential fire hazards. This affects 16 vehicles produced between 04 February 2025 and 21 July 2025. Consumers who believe their vehicles may be affected are encouraged to contact Peugeot customer care for further assistance.
