Gowan Motor Distribution recalls certain Alfa Romeo Junior vehicles
Some vehicles may have been assembled with contact, or insufficient clearance (< 10 mm), between the tube of the petrol particulate filter and the terminal protection cap of the 48 V belt-driven starter alternator. In wet conditions, the insufficient clearance and possible contact between these components can lead to water infiltration, causing an electric arc which may trigger a thermal event, such as overheating. In the worst-case scenario, this could lead to a potential risk of fire in the engine compartment.
There are 39 vehicles affected in the Republic of Ireland that were produced between 27 November 2023 to 18 December 2025.
