Apeks regulators recalled due to risk of drowning from gas flow restriction

HEAD Watersports S.p.A has announced a recall for specific models of Apeks regulators, including the XL4, XL4+, and Ocea. These products were manufactured between April 2025 and April 2026 and have been identified as having a serious safety risk. The internal components may have been assembled incorrectly, which can limit the flow of breathing gas for divers at depths exceeding 45 metres, potentially leading to a drowning hazard.

The recall affects regulators with serial numbers ranging from 250402212 to 260402893. Consumers who own these regulators are advised to check the serial number on their product to determine if it is part of the recall. If a regulator falls within the affected range, it should not be used and must be returned to an authorized Apeks dealer or service center for a free inspection and repair.
