Hyundai Cars Ireland has announced a voluntary recall affecting multiple models of their vehicles. The recall includes the Hyundai i20, i20N, and Bayon, which may experience reduced fuel pump performance leading to sudden loss of power or stalling. A total of 2,186 vehicles produced between April 1, 2021, and January 4, 2023, are impacted in the Republic of Ireland.
Additionally, the Hyundai Ioniq 5N is being recalled due to a braking issue that could occur during specific driving maneuvers, potentially resulting in longer stopping distances. This affects 15 vehicles manufactured between March 13, 2023, and December 11, 2024.
The Hyundai IX35 is also included in the recall list due to a risk of brake fluid entering the HECU/ESC, which could cause a short circuit and lead to a fire. This recall affects 5,008 vehicles produced from January 13, 2010, to November 7, 2013.
Moreover, the H1/Starex model is being recalled because of a faulty electric wire connection that may generate heat in the fuse box, posing a fire risk. This affects 59 vehicles produced between August 18, 2010, and November 22, 2016. Lastly, several models including the Accent, Tucson, Genesis Coupe, Grandeur, and Azera are recalled due to insufficient fuse protection that could lead to a fire in the ESP unit, affecting 7,896 vehicles produced from May 26, 2009, to October 31, 2014. Affected customers will be contacted directly by Hyundai Cars Ireland to arrange necessary repairs.
