Jaguar Land Rover Ireland Limited is conducting a voluntary recall affecting several vehicle models due to identified safety hazards. The recall includes the Evoque and Discovery Sport, where technical analysis revealed that the engine may stall and not restart after being driven in electric vehicle mode, leading to a loss of power. This issue affects 101 vehicles produced between 27 October 2021 and 18 July 2025 in the Republic of Ireland.
Additionally, certain Defender and Discovery vehicles from model year 2026 have a fuel tank with inadequate wall thickness, increasing the risk of fuel spillage and potential fire in the event of a crash. Only 3 vehicles produced between 20 January 2026 and 31 January 2026 are affected by this issue.
Another concern involves the driver’s airbag circuit in Defender, Discovery, and Range Rover models from 2020 to 2027, where corrosion may prevent the airbag from deploying during a crash. This affects 2,255 vehicles manufactured between 04 April 2019 and 26 June 2026.
Lastly, some Discovery Sport, Range Rover Evoque, and Defender vehicles have been identified with a risk of fire in the high-voltage battery due to internal cell behavior, impacting 46 vehicles produced between 07 July 2020 and 01 May 2025. Consumers are advised to contact Jaguar Land Rover Ireland Limited for further assistance and to schedule necessary repairs.
