Kingfisher International Products BV has announced a recall of their GoodHome Integrated Fridge Freezers due to safety concerns. The issue arises from the automatic defrost mechanism, which can overheat and potentially lead to localized damage, increasing the risk of fire or electric shock.
The affected products include the GoodHome GHBI7030FFUK and GHBI5050FFUK models, sold in white. Approximately 63 units are affected in the Republic of Ireland, and these fridge freezers were available for purchase from February 2022 until April 2026 through B&Q Ireland Limited.
Consumers who own these fridge freezers are advised to stop using them immediately, switch them off, and unplug them from the mains. B&Q is offering several options for replacement, including a full refund plus €170 for installation costs, a free equivalent product with self-arranged installation, or a free equivalent product with installation arranged by B&Q. Customers should not dispose of the recalled units, as B&Q will handle their collection. Additionally, those who have experienced food spoilage due to the malfunction may be eligible for compensation of up to €85. For further assistance, customers can contact B&Q Customer Services.
