Toyota Ireland is conducting a voluntary recall for specific models of Proace vehicles due to a potential issue with the water pump pulley. Vehicles equipped with a 1.5L engine may experience engine failure and loss of power if the pulley slips, which could lead to timing belt misalignment and engine shutdown. This problem poses a risk of losing vehicle components on the road and complete engine power loss, increasing the chance of an accident. A total of 71 vehicles produced between 15 October 2025 and 02 November 2026 are affected in the Republic of Ireland.
Additionally, Toyota is recalling certain Highlander vehicles due to a design flaw in the second-row seat recliner assemblies. This issue could prevent the recliner teeth from fully engaging during seatback adjustments, which may compromise the safety of the seatbacks. There are 124 Highlander vehicles affected that were produced between 08 April 2021 and 27 January 2023.
Lastly, a recall has been issued for certain Proace and Proace City vehicles equipped with diesel engines due to a risk of fuel leakage from the common rail. This is caused by a manufacturing defect that can lead to poor sealing, allowing fuel to escape and potentially create a fire hazard under the hood. Six vehicles produced between 29 July 2025 and 9 October 2025 are included in this recall.
