Volkswagen Group Ireland Limited has announced a voluntary recall for various Volkswagen models, including the ID.7, ID.BUZZ, T7 Transporter, Passat, Polo, Taigo, Arona, Ibiza, Golf, Tiguan, Beetle, and Caddy. The recall is due to identified safety issues that could compromise the effectiveness of airbags and seat belts during accidents, potentially leading to serious injuries for occupants.

For certain models, the front passenger airbag may not deploy correctly, or the gas generator housing could burst, posing a risk of injury. Other vehicles may have improperly secured seat belt assemblies, which could fail to restrain passengers effectively in the event of a crash. Additionally, some vehicles may experience brake fluid leaks, affecting braking performance.
