Volkswagen Group Ireland Limited (Skoda Ireland) has announced a voluntary recall for specific Skoda vehicles, including the Kodiaq, ITIGO, FABIA, ROOMSTER, OCTAVIA, RAPID, SUPERB, and YETI models. The recall for the Kodiaq is due to a potential issue with the inner frame of the front seats, which may compromise the effectiveness of the side airbag during activation. This could increase the risk of injury to vehicle occupants in the event of an accident.
In addition, a defect has been identified in the inflator of the driver airbag in the other models, which may lead to uncontrolled inflation and the release of metal fragments when the airbag deploys. This poses a risk of injury to those inside the vehicle.
The affected vehicles in the Republic of Ireland include 1,351 Skoda Kodiaq models produced between 21 August 2024 and 08 December 2025, and 4 vehicles from the other models produced between 14 May 2014 and 18 August 2016.
