Volkswagen Group Ireland Limited (Skoda Ireland) is carrying out a voluntary recall of certain Skoda Fabia and Superb model vehicles.
A safety issue has been identified where the front passenger airbag may have a reduced protective effect when deployed in an accident, thus increasing the risk of injury to a passenger. In addition, if the front passenger airbag is deployed as a result of an accident, the gas generator housing may burst or components of the gas generator housing may come loose and cause serious or fatal injuries to vehicle occupants.
There are 21 vehicles affected in the Republic of Ireland that were produced between 07 September 2022 and 20 March 2025.
