A safety issue has been identified whereby due to a production issue, there is potentially a crimp missing between the nut and aluminium tube inside the Power Operated Tailgate (POT) drive units. There is a risk that the POT spindle may separate whilst the tailgate is being opened and closed. Should this happen, the tailgate could close rapidly and cause injury.

Volvo Car Ireland Limited is carrying out a voluntary recall on certain Volvo V90, XC60, XC90, S90, V60 and S60 model vehicles.
There is a potential risk that the high voltage battery may have a manufacturing defect, which could potentially cause the battery cells to overheat when the high voltage battery is fully charged. In the worst-case scenario, a battery fire may develop when your vehicle is parked up with a fully charged battery. There is no risk of fire whilst the vehicle is being driven. The solution is to inspect the modules, replace if necessary, and download new software which will continuously monitor the battery module performance.
