SIMOND is carrying out a recall of ALPINISM & VERTIKA Quickdraws sold by Decathlon. 

Quickdraws

The product poses an injury risk. A defect in the wire gate riveting on these carabiners was detected. This assembly fault can cause the wire gate to break or detach, posing a serious risk of carabiner failure in the event of a fall. 

The brand is SIMOND. The affected products are as follows: 

  • Alpinism Quickdraw 11 cm (4051175) 

  • Alpinism Quickdraw 17 cm (4051176) 

  • Pack of 5 Alpinism Quickdraws (4171656) 

  • Vertika Quickdraw 11 cm (5499689) 

  • Vertika Quickdraw 17 cm (5500194) 

There are approximately 170 affected products in the Republic of Ireland.   

The product was sold from 01 January 2022 to 23 July 2026. 

What to do:  

Customers should stop using the product immediately.
