Shimano has issued a recall for certain bonded 11-speed HOLLOWTECH II road cranksets that were manufactured from June 1, 2012, to June 30, 2019. The affected models include DURA-ACE FC-R9100, FC-R9100P, FC-9000, and ULTEGRA FC-R8000, FC-6800. Reports indicate that the outer cover of the crank arm can detach from the crank body, which may lead to accidents and injuries while riding.

Consumers who own these cranksets should check the inside of their crank arms for the production codes, which include a range of letters from KF to RF. If a customer finds that their crankset is among those affected, they are encouraged to visit an authorized Shimano dealer for a free inspection and potential replacement of the crank arm.

For further details on how to check if their product is affected and to find a local dealer, customers can refer to the Inspection and Replacement Campaign provided by Shimano. It is important for users of these cranksets to take action to ensure their safety while cycling.
