Dunnes Stores Baxter & Greene salad products recalled due to Salmonella

Dunnes Stores has issued a recall for certain batches of Baxter & Greene loose salad products and prepack products that contain sesame seeds. The recall is due to the detection of Salmonella, a bacteria that can lead to serious health issues, particularly for vulnerable populations such as the elderly and those with weakened immune systems.

Consumers should be aware that Salmonella infection can result in symptoms like diarrhea, fever, headache, and abdominal cramps, typically appearing within 12 to 36 hours after exposure. The illness can last from four to seven days, and in some cases, may require hospitalization.

The recall affects all pack sizes and use-by dates of the implicated products. Consumers are strongly advised not to consume these items and to check their purchases against the recall list. Retailers have been instructed to remove these products from sale and to display recall notices prominently to inform customers.
