BMW Motorrad is conducting a voluntary recall for specific models of their motorcycles, including the S 1000 RR and C Evolution. The recall for the S 1000 RR is due to a potential issue where vibrations may cause internal components of the ignition lock to wear out, leading to sporadic loss of electric contact. This affects 150 vehicles produced between 15 January 2019 and 10 July 2026 in the Republic of Ireland.
In addition, the C Evolution model is being recalled because water can penetrate insufficiently sealed connectors of the 12V battery, which poses a risk of short circuit and potential fire. This recall impacts 9 vehicles manufactured between 25 March 2014 and 26 August 2020.
Customers who believe their vehicle may be affected are advised to contact their local BMW Motorrad dealer or use the BMW Motorrad web form to find the nearest dealer. Affected customers will be directly contacted by BMW Motorrad to arrange necessary repairs or replacements.
