B&Q Ireland Limited has issued a recall for Cooke & Lewis branded Gas Hobs, specifically the models CLGH65ALL and CLOPGH65, which may have been manufactured after May 2019. These gas hobs are used in domestic settings as well as in leisure markets such as holiday homes, caravans, and boats. The concern arises from the gas supply elbow joint, which can fracture and potentially cause gas to leak, leading to dangerous situations like burns, fire, explosion, and poisoning from inhalation.
There are 23 affected products identified in the Republic of Ireland. Consumers who own these gas hobs are advised not to use them until they have been inspected and modified by a Registered Gas Installer. This inspection and modification will be provided at no cost to the consumer.
