Morco has identified a safety issue with their Open-Flued Gas Water Heaters, which may be used in mobile homes, caravans, and domestic settings. The concern is related to potential gas leaks that, if ignited, could result in serious hazards such as burns, explosions, and injuries. The models affected by this recall are the Primo 6, Primo 11, EUP6, and EUP11, which were sold from 2018 to 2023.

Approximately 1,116 units of these water heaters have been sold in the Republic of Ireland through various distributors, including Mectec Gas Limited and Gas Equipment Ireland, among others. Consumers who have purchased these models should check their appliances to determine if they are affected by this recall.

To address this safety issue, Morco is advising customers to visit their website to fill out an upgrade form. This will allow a Registered Gas Installer to perform the necessary safety upgrades at no cost.
