Toyota Ireland recalls certain model vehicles

Toyota Ireland is carrying out a voluntary recall of certain Proace City vehicles.

When the vehicle is being started, a software defect may cause the combination meter screen to remain black. If this occurs, the combination meter screen will not display essential driver information, including vehicle speed, warnings, indicator lamps, vehicle status and other messages. Driving the vehicle without these functions can lead to an increased risk of an accident

 

There are 105 affected vehicles in the Republic of Ireland that were produced between 29 September 2025 and 01 March 2026.

Toyota Ireland is carrying out a voluntary recall of certain Proace vehicles.

Vehicles equipped with a 1.5L engine may be subject to engine failure and loss of engine power caused by water pump pulley slippage. This condition may result in timing belt misalignment and engine shutdown. The pulley may detach from the shaft, leading to the loss of vehicle components on the roadway and complete loss of engine power, increasing the risk of an accident.

There are 71 affected vehicles in the Republic of Ireland that were produced between 15 October 2025 and 02 November 2026.

Toyota Ireland is carrying out a voluntary recall of certain Highlander vehicles.

The subject vehicles are equipped with second row seats that use recliner assemblies to unlock the seatbacks, allow for seatback angle adjustment, and lock the seatback in place once adjustment is complete. Due to a failure to consider the force balance between the locking spring and the return spring during a design change made by the supplier, a combination of recliner return spring orientation and outer clearance between the recliner guide and ratchet may cause the recliner teeth to not fully engage during seatback adjustment.

 

There are 124 affected vehicles in the Republic of Ireland that were produced between 08 April 2021 and 27 January 2023.

Toyota Ireland is carrying out a voluntary recall of certain Proace and Proace City vehicles.

There is a possibility that certain vehicles equipped with diesel engines may experience fuel leakage from the common rail. This issue is caused by an out of specification roundness on the common rail cone, which can lead to poor sealing with the high-pressure pipe nut. As a result, fuel may leak between the nut and the common rail cone, creating fuel vapour and fuel flow towards the hot exhaust system. In the worst-case scenario this can result in an under-hood fire.
