Gowan Distributors Limited (Peugeot Ireland) recalls certain Peugeot vehicles

Gowan Distributors Limited (Peugeot Ireland) is carrying out a voluntary recall of certain Peugeot Boxer model vehicles.

Some vehicles are affected by a problem with the indicator failure warning system (warning light). Due to a mistranslation of the configuration data (proxy coding) between two production systems, the vehicle’s body control module (BCM) is not correctly configured to detect a failure of the indicator lights (e.g. blown bulb). If an indicator bulb has blown, the BCM does not detect the failure and the warning signal does not illuminate. This could reduce communication with other road users and increase the risk of accidents.

There are 64 vehicles affected in the Republic of Ireland that were produced between 23 January 2024 to 15 December 2025.

Gowan Distributors Limited (Peugeot Ireland) is carrying out a voluntary recall of certain Peugeot 3008 and 5008 model vehicles.

Certain Peugeot 3008 V3 and 5008 V3 vehicles may be fitted with cylinder blocks which are missing a cooling nozzle. If a cooling nozzle is missing, the piston may not be cooled down sufficiently, potentially causing it to weaken, warp or break. This could lead to sudden engine failure, causing power transmission loss. In the worst-case scenario, excessive heat combined with a mechanical failure could also trigger thermal runaway (including severe overheating, smoke or fire while the vehicle is in use).

 

There are 60 vehicles affected in the Republic of Ireland that were produced between 25 November 2025 to 27 November 2025.

Gowan Distributors Limited (Peugeot Ireland) is carrying out a voluntary recall of certain Peugeot 308 V3, 408, 3008 V3 and 5008 V3 model vehicles.

Affected vehicles may randomly experience an unexpected deactivation of the interior door handles when the key is in engine-running mode. One to four doors may be affected, which can result in the occupant(s) being unable to exit the vehicle. This can lead to a risk of injury, burns and suffocation in the event of a collision.

 

There are 2,274 vehicles affected in the Republic of Ireland that were produced between 01 November 2023 to 12 February 2026.

Gowan Distributors Limited (Peugeot Ireland) is carrying out a voluntary recall of certain Peugeot 208 V2, 308 V3, Rifter, Partner, Expert model vehicles.

Some Peugeot 208 V2, 308 V3, Rifter, Partner and Expert vehicles equipped with the DV5R engine are likely to have engine failure with loss of power caused by slippage of the water pump pulley (loss of tight fit), which would result in the misalignment of the timing belt and engine shutdown. In the worst-case scenario, this problem can lead to the detachment of the sprocket of the water pump pulley from the shaft, which can lead to the loss of parts on the road.

 

There are 358 vehicles affected in the Republic of Ireland that were produced between 19 October 2025 and 05 February 2026.

Gowan Distributors Limited (Peugeot Ireland) is carrying out a voluntary recall of certain Peugeot 208 and 2008 model vehicles.

Some vehicles may have been assembled with contact, or insufficient clearance (< 10 mm), between the tube of the petrol particulate filter and the terminal protection cap of the 48 V belt-driven starter alternator. In wet conditions, the insufficient clearance and possible contact between these components can lead to water infiltration, causing an electric arc which may trigger a thermal event, such as overheating. In the worst-case scenario, this could lead to a potential risk of fire in the engine compartment.

There are 1,347 vehicles affected in the Republic of Ireland that were produced between 07 June 2023 and 21 January 2026.

Gowan Distributors Limited (Peugeot Ireland) is carrying out a voluntary recall of certain Peugeot Boxer model vehicles.

 Some Peugeot Boxer NG vehicles may have been equipped with fuel return pipes which do not comply with the specifications. The pipe is less elastic and has lower thermal stability. This could lead to an insufficient connection between the fuel return pipe and the valve, leading to a fuel leak. The possibility of fuel coming into contact with hot parts cannot be ruled out, which in the worst-case scenario could cause the vehicle to catch fire.

There are 16 vehicles affected in the Republic of Ireland that were produced between 04 February 2025 to 21 July 2025 .

Gowan Distributors Limited (Peugeot Ireland) is carrying out a voluntary recall of certain Peugeot V3, Rifter, Partner, Expert model vehicles.

A safety issue has been identified whereby certain Peugeot 308 V3, Rifter, Partner and Expert vehicles fitted with a DV5R engine may have a fuel leak. The non-conformity of the round shape on the cone of the common rail may cause the nut to loosen, with a potential fuel leak between the nut and the thread, leading to fuel vapours and fuel flow to the hot exhaust system. In the worst-case scenario, this may lead to a fire under the bonnet.

There are 23 vehicles affected in the Republic of Ireland that were produced between 26 July 2025 and 08 October 2025.
