Kia Ireland recalls certain Kia model vehicles

Kia Ireland is carrying out a voluntary recall of certain Kia Niro EV model vehicles.
Due to insufficient detection capability in the current BMS (Battery Management System) diagnostic logic, micro shorts between battery cells may remain unrecognized. Such undetected micro shorts can lead to cell overheating, which in rare cases may escalate into a thermal incident with possible open flame while the vehicle is parked or charging.
There are 147 vehicles affected in the Republic of Ireland that were produced between 19 May 2020 to 18 March 2022 .

Kia Ireland is carrying out a voluntary recall of certain Kia PV5 model vehicles.
Changes in production led to uneven material and strength in some areas to improve the hood’s outer appearance. Due to this, in case the vehicle impacts a pedestrian, there is a potential increase in the level of injury to pedestrians.
There are 152 vehicles affected in the Republic of Ireland that were produced between 08 September 2025 to 02 February 2026.
