Nissan Ireland Limited is conducting a voluntary recall of specific Nissan Qashqai and X-Trail vehicles due to concerns with their lithium-ion batteries. An incorrect software calibration may cause the battery to malfunction, potentially resulting in a loss of engine power while driving. This could lead to the vehicle stopping unexpectedly, increasing the risk of an accident. The affected Qashqai models were produced between 8 July 2025 and 20 May 2026, while the X-Trail models were made from 1 December 2021 to 21 April 2026, with a total of 215 and 1,726 vehicles affected, respectively.

Additionally, there is a recall for certain Nissan Qashqai vehicles due to a potential issue with the fuel line. It has been reported that the fuel line may move within its retaining clip, which could cause damage and result in a fuel leak, posing a fire hazard. This recall affects 173 vehicles produced between 4 May 2021 and 17 October 2024.

Another recall involves Nissan Townstar vehicles, where the rear swing door strikers may protrude when the doors are open. This could pose a risk of head injuries to users, particularly when entering or exiting the vehicle. A total of 25 Townstar vehicles produced between 5 February 2021 and 16 May 2025 are affected.

Nissan Ireland will be reaching out directly to the owners of the affected vehicles to arrange inspections. If consumers believe their vehicle is impacted, they can contact a Nissan Dealer or the Nissan Ireland Customer Relations team for assistance.
