A joint on the pyrotechnic gas generator in the front seat belt pretensioners was not welded properly. In the event of an accident, there is a risk of injury to passengers due to small parts becoming detached.
There are 32 vehicles affected in the Republic of Ireland that were produced between 15 October 2025 and 05 June 2026.

Volkswagen Group Ireland Limited is carrying out a voluntary recall of certain Audi Q5 model vehicles.
The function of the seatbelt pre-tensioner of the front seats does not comply with the technical specifications. Although the seatbelt tightens in a crash that triggers its deployment, it cannot reliably maintain this tightness, thus reducing its protective effect. There is a risk of injury.
There are 101 vehicles affected in the Republic of Ireland that were produced between 10 July 2025 and 19 December2025.
